The Art of the Title Sequence

I was watching The Incredibles with the kids the other day and was struck by how cool the title sequence at the end of the movie is. "Someone ought to create a website where they collect the coolest title sequences around," I thought. Well, thanks to Jason Kottke, I now know that someone has. The Art of the Title Sequence.

What's your favorite movie title sequence? In addition to The Incredibles, I really like Casino Royale (the 2006 version).

Title sequences are not something I normally give much thought to, but the one that first came mind is the one from Catch Me if you Can. I remember liking the graphics, the music. Apparently, Mr. Kottke likes it too.

I think my favorite has to be one of the original "fun" title sequences--"The Pink Panther." Although I will admit to a love/hate relationship as a child when I thought that the whole movie would be a cartoon and instead I only got the funny intro.

I remember thinking the same thing about the Pink Panther when I was a kid.
